Head Series
When I arrived at the Press to start a new series of monotypes, I was greeted by the Master Printer. All I could see was her dazzling smile, huge blue eyes, and a little piece of fluorescent chewing gum showing from the corner of her mouth. I only wanted to paint her! She became my first HEAD image. Enjoying revisiting the figure, I began to “pick up” whoever I could find in the building….and then inviting people to come and sit for me. The fascination was the diversity of each print and the diversity of each person…yet all created in the same format –size and medium. The challenge became how to find the essence of each personality. My interest was sustained for over one hundred HEADS
